Sports and Recreation

ViewPoint has many great outdoor and indoor activities available for all skill levels.  Some are offered seasonal and some year-round.

Listed below are the organized sports and recreational activities available to all ViewPoint Residents.  Groups and Leagues with several separate options are visible with a simple click on the section’s “+” to expand/collapse each one for complete details, locations, dates and times.

Some groups require a season long commitment, while others are on a drop-in basis.  Please visit the group’s website, or contact the group coordinator directly for additional details.

ViewPoint Pickleball Club

Pickleball Mania is alive and well here at ViewPoint.  Come join the fun on one of our 9 courts (located next to Hawk’s Nest Park).  All levels of play each day.  Instructions given throughout the week.  Monthly Socials, Tournaments and Weekly Round Robins.

Outdoor season runs from November through April.  During the summer we use the Ballroom to keep playing inside.  Annual membership dues are $15.00

ViewPoint Tennis Club

Want to have some fun and make some new friends, all while getting some beneficial exercise?  Our 300+ members welcomes both beginner and experienced players of all skill levels.   For those of you new to the game, we offer loaner racquets and FREE beginners’ lessons, so you can try it out to see if it is right for you.

The season runs from November through March.

Billiards is a great indoor sport.  Whether you are new to the game (we will teach you) or an old pro.  Ladies’ Billiards is a FREE fun time open to all residents, regardless of skill level, and is a great, relaxed way to meet new people.

Shuffleboard

ViewPoint has a very friendly and actively social Shuffleboard Community.  The game is open to all ages and skill levels.  Don’t know how to play?  It’s easy to learn with free lessons available for residents new to the game.

Also, if you like a little friendly competition, it offers an opportunity to be very competitive as well.

There are NO membership fees or dues, and all necessary equipment is supplied at no charge.

Horseshoe Club

Like a little league play, or just horsing around.  ViewPoint has 2 courts open to anyone free of charge, anytime they wish to play.  The courts are located in the upper Northeast corner of the park, with ample parking for larger groups.

League play is on Tuesday mornings in East Mesa.

Hiking Club

Join us as we lead individuals of all skill on hikes in our beautiful valley mountains.

There are several organized hikes to choose from each week from November through March.  Annual dues are $5.00, which support the BBQ, etc.

Other special events:

  • January – Annual Business Meeting
  • March – Hikers BBQ
  • March – Travel to various mountain trails for 3 days of hiking in the most scenic areas of Arizona.

Hike Days and Skill Levels:

Mondays – Medium and Challenging
Wednesdays – Easy and Medium
Fridays – Easy to challenging

We carpool to the hiking trails, and pay the driver a small fee.  During the COVID pandemic, you should carpool only with those you trust and wear a mask while in the car.

We meet at the gazebo just North of the Post Office, and depart at 7:30 A.M.

1st Sunday Golf League

We tee off on the 9-hole course at 11:30 am on the 1st Sunday of every  month from December through March.  Golfers (couples and singles) of all skill levels are welcome to join us for a relaxed and fun round of golf.

Enjoy snacks starting at 4:30 pm, followed by a potluck social at 5:00 pm, in the Northpoint Multi-Purpose Rooms.

BYOB – Snacks – Potluck Dish – Nickels for Games

Players pay their own greens fees in the ViewPoint Pro Shop prior to the round.

Above Par Couples League

Tee off with us on the 3rd Sunday of every month from November through March.  Golfers of all skill levels are welcome to join us for a relaxed and fun round of golf, followed by a potluck social at 4:30 pm in the Northpoint Multi-Purpose Rooms.

We randomly make up foursomes using a blind draw.  Players pay their greens fees (plus $1 prize fund fee) in the ViewPoint Pro Shop prior to the round.

Ladies' Golf Leagues

We welcome ladies of all skill levels to join us for a wonderful morning of golf on the ViewPoint 9-hole course.

We play a weekly game of the day and have 4 social gatherings throughout the season.

We have scheduled tee times starting at 9:00 am every Tuesday morning from November – March.

An annual fee of $30 is paid at the ViewPoint Pro Shop.

We welcome ladies of all skill levels to gather for a wonderful round of golf on the ViewPoint 18-hole course.

Our league has many fun events throughout the season.  We play a weekly $2 game of the day, offer instructional golf clinics, social gatherings and more.

We normally tee-off at 9:00 am every Tuesday morning from November – March, with optional am/pm shotgun times for league play while shotgun starts are in effect.

An annual fee of $35 is paid at the ViewPoint Pro Shop.

Shotgun start Thursday mornings from November – March.  Every week play is optional.

We have a different game of the day each week, along with a $2 deuce pot and a $3 net gross skins game.

To collect your winnings, and to brag about that too good to be true shot you made or putt you sunk, be sure to stick around afterward for drinks and socializing on the patio.

Club Championship round every year.

T.O.F.S. league is open to residents of all skill levels.  League play is every Tuesday from November – March.

Weekly $2 game of the day, deuce pots and skins cash payouts. We offer a variety of competitive weekly games; including our version of the Ryder Cup and a League Championship.

An annual fee of $30 is paid at the ViewPoint Pro Shop.

Ladies’ & Men’s Softball
ViewPoint Senior Softball Association (VPSSA)

We have approximately 200 participants in the league, and are always looking for new players.  There are 13 league teams of various skill levels; including 10 Men’s, 1 Ladies and 2 In-Park teams.  The In-Park teams are geared toward being more casual, which allows players to get in shape and improve their skills.

Game days are the best!!!  Fans are always welcome to stop by and cheer on our players, and don’t forget about those hamburgers!  The best in the Valley!
